TEACHING
Theatre serves a unique and valuable function within an educational environment. No matter a student's primary discipline, the study of theatre exercises a student's empathy and imagination. It places an emphasis on work ethic, professionalism, and teamwork within a deadline environment. Most importantly, it encourages a student's freedom to take artistic risks in order to illuminate their own journey within the human experience.
During the summer of 2022, Matthew taught an acting workshop in Riyadh in conjunction with Hakawati Entertainment and The New York Film Academy. This workshop was a first of its kind for Saudi actors seeking to begin careers in the country's fledgling film and television industry.
